The Roisin Dubh is on Dominick St Galway, which is, as everyone knows, the heart and soul of the town. Located in the West of Galway city, which anyone will tell you is the heart and soul of the town, the Roisin Dubh has been firmly established over the years as one of the finest music venues in the world. The venue itself has undergone major changes, increasing the capacity to 280, and firmly re-establishing it as the best venue in the West Of Ireland, shortlisted for the IMRO Top Venue In Ireland for 2008. In recent times, the Róisín has had visits from the likes of the Violent Femmes, The Fall, We Are Scientists, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Ryan Adams, José Gonzaléz, I'm From Barcelona, Mercury Rev, Battles, Dinosaur Jr, The Lemonheads, Toots & The Maytals, Stars, The Magic Numbers and many more, while also hosting a weekly comedy night at the Laughter Lounge every Wednesday. Other than that, Róisín Dubh is essentially the same as always.
