Francis Street, Dublin

Description

Tivoli Theatre is located at 135 Francis Street, Dublin 8th. The Tivoli Theatre in Dublin, Ireland, started life as the Conciliation Hall in 1834. It was built as a meeting place for Daniel O'Connell's Repeal Association. In 1897, it was rebuilt as a concert hall called the Grand Lyric Hall and changed name to the Lyric Theatre of Varieties the following year. It became known as the Tivloi in 1901. The theatre, situated upstairs, is a magnificent space that allows all of its tiered seating to have un-obstructed view of the stage. The threatre’s seating sweeps down directly level with the stage, and as any patron who’s visited will tell you “pick a front row seat and you’ll feel like you’re in the production”. The theatre has a ‘full bar service’ with its own dedicated upstairs bar in use when the production demands.
